Meet The Doctor

Dr. Joel Stevens

Dr. Stevens became a chiropractor because he has always had a special interest in natural health care, disease prevention, and a desire to know how the body is made and how it functions. Before coming to Sheboygan, he worked as an exam doctor at a rehabilitation clinic in Auburn, Maine for 3 years.

He has been in practice in Sheboygan since 1992 at the same downtown location. His mission and practice focus is to bring excellent chiropractic care at a fair and affordable price to the hardworking families of Sheboygan. Dr Joel says that his favorite part of being a chiropractor is watching families grow. He has treated children that now have children of their own that he treats. He even has families that he has seen 4 generations of.  It is truly humbling for him.

Dr. Stevens is well-educated.  He graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota, in 1989. His educational focus has been on exercise rehabilitation and nutrition. He has taken 100s of hours of post-graduate courses on rehabilitation by Craig Liebenson. He continuously takes educational classes to stay on top of the latest health information.

Dr. Stevens Has An Active Personal Life

Dr. Stevens grew up farming and still enjoys heading home in the spring to help with “the chores”. In fall his patients can look forward to the extra harvest from his garden that he brings to the office. His hobbies currently include restoring antique tractors, and going to tractor shows with his children.  He is active in his sons wrestling and enjoys going to his practices and meets. He has also been an avid scuba diver for many years, and enjoys hunting pheasants and waterfowl. Although he loves animals, he is currently without pets except for his barn cats.  His longtime hunting dog Molly, was a great pet and friend and is hard to replace. Dr Joel always has a project he is working on during his days off and enjoys sharing stories with his patients to get to know them.
